it's a quarter after one,
i'm all alone and i need you now. said i wouldn't call but i've lost all control and i need you now. and i don't know how i can do without. i just need you now. another shot of whiskey, i can't stop looking at the door. wishing you'd come sweeping in the way you did before------------------------------------------------
Katie wasn't this kind of girl. Maybe by societal standards she should be, but she wasn't. Going out for late nights full of booze and poor decisions just wasn't her cup of tea, so she did her best to avoid bars and nightclubs at all costs. So what had changed this time? What made her go along with something she always believed to be a poor idea? Well, you see, the thing with Katie was that she was a sucker for love and fairytale fantasies. Though the tabloids portrayed her as America's newest sweetheart, the innocent girl next door, she had herself a little bit of the t-swift syndrome. Katie went through romantic interest like she did film contracts. This, of course, wasn't her choice. She was the kind of girl who would make the mistake of having her character onscreen become a reality and suddenly she was falling for the boy she had to kiss in front of the cameras. For a while it would be nice and sweet, but then they would both find other parts to play that would require them to move leagues away from one another and eventually they would just fall out of touch. Of course it hurt, but this was something Katie accepted. Continuous heartbreak was almost a part of the job description honestly... but this time she thought it might be a little different. Carson wasn't a boy she had met on set. He was just some regular guy working at some regular diner that she met one morning after a long night of schedule planning. He had a handsome face with the bluest eyes she ever did see. They were hypnotizing really, and she was defenseless against his charm. Perhaps she should have noted that something was off, or at least tread a little more carefully given her status and the fact that anyone might use her for this thing or that, but it had never crossed her mind. She played right into his trap and that's what brought her to this current mess of a situation. They had made reservations at some luxurious nightclub in LA where all the young stars went to party the night away. The second she walked in, it was pretty evident that she didn't fit in. Her face was too sweet and words too kind. She wasn't willing to take a taste of the white powdery stuff they had floating around on silver trays or breathe in the smoke from some type of cigarette that didn't quite smell like a cigarette at all. What she did do, however, was run up her bar tab and drink far more than her fair share of booze because Carson nudged her on until suddenly the room was spinning and she could no longer stand. She felt terribly sick and just wanted to go home, but when she looked on either side of her, her date had suddenly disappeared. Tears of panic streaked down her face, making her makeup smudge under her eyes. Noelle had her day off today... which meant it would be a poor idea to call her right now. How late was it anyway? Way too late for anyone she knew to come pick her up. But what was she to do? Calling a cab was an option, but Katie was so drunk that the idea never crossed her mind. Instead she scrolled through her phone, peering at the names of her contacts through her teary eyes until Edward's name showed up. The phone rang and rang until his voicemail clicked on and told her to leave a message after the tone. "U-Umm.... E-E-Edward? I'm... I'm a littledrunk and umm... I need help? I'm at... Lure. I-if you're not... b-busy could you... come get me? It's okay if n-not... but yeah. Let me know. B-bye." Her voice was shaking and slurred throughout the whole message, mixed with sniffling and her struggling to pronounce words correctly. Katie decided to hang up the phone before making a fool out of herself. Then she curled up on her isolated little couch and knocked back the shot that some waitress brought over to her. |
