since he was eighteen. his parents didn’t die, he just decided that was the time that he needed to grow up and be more independent. his parents are proud of him, he’s proud of himself as well as he has established a small, but successful kickboxing in a part of the downtown la core. he has set up the business after having been part of the gym as a personal trainer since was eighteen, putting in time and extra shifts to raise the money and finally—all of his work paid off. he is a determined individual, seeing a goal and thinking of the best way to reach it which would also make him a logical person as well. he weighs the pros and the cons, thinking of the best choice and the way to have the greater number of happiness for everyone. he tries to please everyone that comes to the gym, making it a happy, healthy and safe community as he has raised the gym from the bottom up and is not ready to watch it tumble to the ground. a fighter, it’s an odd and slightly ironic thought that the male is actually quite passive regardless of his training. disciplined would be the proper word to describe his behavior outside of the gym. only taking the step to use force if it’s absolutely necessary such as saving a damsel in distress or in self defense and he would never harm the person just to cause them pain, it would be to disable them from attacking even further. the punching bag, his opponents who are usually decked out in some kind of protective gear and sometimes a regular old mat are his only real enemies and the only thing that he will lay his fist and kicks into it. when angered or frustrated, the gym is the best bet if you are hunting for the male as he works out his frustration and anger through the means of working out and getting the endorphins pumping through his body. the burn of his muscles takes his mind off his clouded logic. his gym, though usually filled with girls, is his priority. usually only giving a one glance to a nice looking body, dmitri tries his hardest to keep up the role of a gentleman. he is polite, courteous and respectful to those that deserve it and those that reciprocate the gesture to him. he is not a prat, he is not a jerk and certaintly has a heart unlike a lot of the males in this city. he is the one that will hold a girl while she cries and not make a move to push for more. he’s usually the teddy bear best friend that is hardly looked at twice and that is fine with him, but he is aware that he is a handsome man. the girls that sign up for his classes is evident of that but dmitri is looking for more than just a one night stand for a good time. he is respectful, not leaving the bed before the girl wakes and usually makes her breakfast before she wakes up. he loves listening to the soothing sounds of a woman sleeping next to him, but he rarely has that company unless it’s a serious girlfriend. oddly enough, dmitri is okay in being that friend instead of the boyfriend, he prefers that role because he continues to get scorned. a girl that would interest him is one that is tough, has a passion for the same thing he does—mostly cause he has this fantasy of sex in the middle of a boxing ring, as well as be real. he doesn’t want a girl that is fake around him, or tries to impress him by being someone who they think he wants. he has seen that too much and dmitri is tired of it, growing annoyed of the same kind of girl continuing to come into his gym and press him for a one night stand. he will happily personal train a girl if that is what she desires but he wants someone that desires him, all of him for the good and the bad. and there is bad. sometimes, the male can dig back to his roots of russia and sometimes that’s not enticing to a girl to eat cold fish soup and snuggle while watching some russian movie with subtitles, for her convenience. the language is fluent, and there is still a thickness in his accent, evidence that he is still kind of rooted into his past. having been scorned so many times, kicked down, put down and beaten down both physically and mentally, the male has taken it upon himself to keep his stuff to himself. he would rather focus on your life and what’s happening with you then to sit and talk about himself and his past. it’s not a bad one, though he does have pieces of his past that he would rather forget but his life, and his business is his and if he wants you to know—you have to be ready to take in all that he is. guarded by thin walls, they easily come crashing down when a pretty face is thrusted into his life and into his heart but even that takes time due to the amount of cracks in his heart. sometimes his work, his gym, his own training can get into the way of actual being with a girl as his whole life has been dedicated to being the best person that he can be while training to be a fighter. he is not going for strong man but he likes the feeling that he has when laying his fist into a mat instead of someone’s face—an anger problem that had longed been subdued but he fears that it will rise up again. the gist of dmitri is that he is a charming, sweet, caring, dedicated male who will fight for a girl’s honor if need be but never use his fighting for anything too extreme until he weighs out the pros and cons of the situation. the lines, MOTHER'S NAME, AGE & OCCUPATION: ivanna ivanov, 49, cfoFATHER'S NAME, AGE & samara, russiaFIRST FRIEND (small paragraph): it would seem strange to think that the first friend that Dmitri would have was a family member, but it was. his sister was the first friend that he ever had and she ended up being the best friend that he could ask for. only years older than him, he was able to get advice from her for things that she had already gone through -- school, relationships, friends and even sport advice. she was his first cheerleader and his first coach. they spoke about everything and never let a detail out. she ended up naming the gym because she is the only friend, the only woman, that he wants to hear an opinion from. he is quite proud and feels that giving his sister the company to run was the best decision for the two of them but he has no doubts that his sister could have made something of herself without their father’s legacy. FIRST LOVE : claire. a blonde amercian that was on vacation for a summer in his small town for an exchange program. she was his neighbour and dmitri had never really had an interest in love since he found his love for fighting and was trying to learn discipline at that time. he was just going cold turkey off the street fighting when he ran into the young woman as she was watering the garden out front of his neighours house. he ended up just watching her for a few minutes before actually introducing himself. she explained why she was there and he offered to show her the town but ended up showing her his own hiding spots and the beautiful view that the town had to offer. claire was bound to leave though and dmitri fought the attraction for a long time but a bottle of wine in his basement and a romantic lighting kind of setting proved to make that task impossible and he ended up kissing her and then went further with her. she was not his first and he was not hers but they still had this emotional bond. he admired the way she tried to assimilate herself into his culture and into his life, hanging with his friends, showing up at the office (when he worked for his dad’s company). she was just perfection in his eyes and when the summer rolled to an end, she asked for dmitri to come. he had planned to leave the comfort of his home, get away from the toxic air and the influences that could pull him away from his discipline training. he agreed and it was the biggest mistake of his life. FIRST MEMORY: it’s a blurry one, he is not even sure if it’s a memory or something that he had just created. his father and mother and sister, along with him, were sitting in the living room of their childhood home. he was around two years old and he crawled over to his mother who was not able to tear herself away from the magazine in her hands. dmitri then turned to his father, an aging man and he remembers reaching up to get some attention. all of his family just seemed completely disinterested in him but his father smiled and leaned down, picking him up off the ground and placing him on his lap. even with the amount of work that was on the coffee table, his father turned it all away to be with his family. dmitri feels that when it’s his turn to be a father, this is the kind of father that he wants to be. BEST MEMORY: opening the gym was one of his best memories. he had just come off the heartbreak and even with the family money that was tucked away into an account, he still had to work at a high profile gym to keep raising the money but once he reached his goal, the gym was furnished and the doors opened. he had to keep the membership price a bit high but once he broke even, dmitri lowered that price. the reason that cutting that ribbon in front of all of the gym trainers and future students is so important to him is because it’s something he did on his own. he set out to reach this goal and when it was finally reached, he was actually able to truly believe he was worth something. in reality, dmitri had failed everything from love to running his father’s company as his father wished for him to do, the entire reason for his existence really. he was running a business but he was also happy and dmitri feels that russian kicks is the reason that he has not lost control or that he is not behind bars. plus, hearing his sister say that she was proud made all of the blood, sweat and tears worthwhile. WORST MEMORY: toss up. dmitri is not fond of the funeral of his father as he was only thirteen and was forced to not only speak in front of everyone and explain to the press, to family, to friends and to strangers that he was in fact ready to take over a company that he was not ready to take over and had to say goodbye to his father, his idol. but then the feeling of having his heart broken was also not a good feeling either. he might actually say that the breakup was worse because he felt physically hurt, it was a kick to his stomach and he felt like his heart was physically being stomped on. walking into the apartment that they shared, that he had bought for them, and seeing another man in his bed with a woman that he could have spent his life together with was the worst feeling in the world. he felt his world shatter but also his own faith in the idea of love. he wanted to get back on a plane and go back to russia but his sister talked him down and made him see that LA, though a place of pain, was the best place for him. HISTORY (overview): born to a loving family, dmitri was cared for from the day that he was born by a nanny by the name of alessandra. beautiful, gentle, sweet, and practically his mother as his family was a wealthy one and his parents had very little time for him. he was conceived to be an heir as his older sister was not the male that they were expecting but when dmitri was born, it was a celebration. though that was short lived as reality set in and the family had to return to work and the little boy was pushed into the arm of the nanny that was also caring for his two year old sister at the time. growing up in russia, dmitri was forced to learn both english and italian and though russian was fluently spoken in his house, there were times where they would throw a curve ball and talk to him in english just to hone his skills that much more. ontop of grade school, which was something that boy discovered he had a passion and a knack for, he had to attend english classes and italian classes as that was the family’s biggest importers of whatever his family sold. for a while, dmitri thought that, growing up, his family was in the mafia or a gang but it turned out to be they were an outsourcing company that helped link people from the united states, russia and italy for jobs. taking that opportunity, dmitri was slowly being taught how to run the business and he was only about ten years old as his father was growing sick, frail and would fade away before dmitri turned fifteen. his father passed on when dmitri was thirteen, pushing him into the role that he was not ready for and it did not take long before dmitri began to grow stressed, exhausted and angry at the world. he became self-destructive as his teen years continued and his name was constantly in the paper describing the crimes and the disturbances that he was involved in. the family company was slipping and dmitri, at the age of sixteen, passed the company to the more resonsbile of the siblings and gave it to his sister. he had no passion for the business as his father did and he had girls, school and a social life to focus on. clubbing at nights, dmitri ended up falling into a crowd that involved fighting in the streets, and breaking and entering into homes. the former was what took dmitri’s interest to kickboxing up a few notches as he learned that again, he had a talent for the sport. he won money, spending money that he used to gamble with and became a reckless, irresponsible male who his mother was not too proud of. seventeen years old, after three years of actually street fighting, dmitri saw the monster that he had become when he had nearly beaten a guy to death and had decided to visit the coma-ridden male in the hospital the next day. he promised to himself, and when he went home, to his mother that he would change and it would be the better. turning his act around, dmitri still never took over his family business and instead, let his older sister continue to run it as she had been—successfully. she had the business talent that he had never acquired and though logical, business had never been a part of that. logic as he was, dmitri left russia and the bad influence, using the money that he saved up to help him find a random spot which was originally going to be san diego, california but he had managed to find a tourist girl and followed her to LA where his heart was later broken by that same girl when he was nineteen. continuing the trend, he found girls to get along with and they continued to turn him down or friendzone him, play him like the fiddle that he could very well call himself and take advantage of him. heartbreak after heartbreak, dmitri turned to the gym life, getting a job as a personal trainer and learning to discipline himself and his fighting and he’s been that way ever since. opening up “russian kicks”, a name that his sister created when he asked for one, he has managed to create a successful, viable business that he links with the family business which helps keeps ties with his family and his roots which his something that is important to him. that was four years ago, at the age of twenty and he has pulled himself away from personal training and has taken it upon himself to pass on the art, and his passion of kickboxing to others. |
