Roxy was almost positive that some horrible life force had a hand in her predicament. One thing that was not good to do at work, especially when you have a room full of third graders, is sprint out and barely make it to the bathroom in time to vomit everywhere. It was a bug, those went around right? That’s what she told herself at least, that is until it happen three more times that day, she actually was sent home from school because everyone thought she had the flu. She tried to sleep it off but the next morning it happened again, this time worse and with a vengeance. Sitting on the cold tile of her bathroom floor, perched over the toilet bowl, miserable, she felt like getting sick, but not because of her “bug”, but because she realized what this bug could be, it could be worse, like a parasite that had attached its self to the inside of her and was now turning into another being. Was she being dramatic yes! Of course she was! She didn’t even bother to get out of her sweats and t-shirt before she hustled to the closest store and bought out the entire pregnancy test section, there were only six, but still, she had no shame walking out of the store with the bag of tests and a giant sweet tea. She chugged the tea and by the time she got back to the house, she was ready for her first test. Positive. Not a good sign, five more tests, a positive after positive, after smiley face. The nausea washed over her again. This was definitely not good. She thought back, calculating. She wasn’t a whore, she knew who’s it was… maybe she still didn’t know his last name, and vaguely remembered his first, but he had to be it. Her husband.. the words still haunted her. He had said he would take care of it, but she had no idea about how to get a hold of him. She needed to figure out what to do. She couldn’t be a mother, not yet. She was still young and, the plan had been to know the father of her baby and actually be in love with him before this happened, if it even happened at all. She was positive she would be a horrible mother, sure she was a good teacher, maybe great, but there was a saying “those who cannot do, teach.” Well she was sure she couldn’t “do” being a mother.
It was almost like this same horrible life force, was forcing them together. She didn’t know how long she had been sitting on the floor of her living room, clutching a pillow and a dog, or how she had even gotten there, but her phone was buzzing. She swore under her breath seeing the unknown local number, it had to be him right? That was how her luck was going. Hello?” her voice was not her own, it sounded weird to her own ears, different, weak, worried, and confused. She agreed to where he wanted to meet, apparently he had everything set for them. The papers, all she had to do was sign and they would be free from each other. It took her twenty minutes to pull herself from the floor and get ready for their little meeting. She wondered if she needed doctor proof, or if he would take her word for it, or the word of six home pregnancy tests. She didn’t have time to get the blood work done and tests back before she met him, so hastily she put the pee sticks in a Ziploc baggy. Yep, that was her backup plan, if she told him and he didn’t believe it, then she could just whip them out. She checked herself, in the mirror after getting dressed; a simple blouse and jeans, shoes. She nervously lifted her shirt and checked her belly. No signs, that she could see. Well, maybe her breasts were a little more full or a lot, noticing how snug and uncomfortable her bra was. But, her belly was still generally flat. She wouldn’t know how many weeks and days until she saw the doctor, but she knew what night they had drunkenly decided to have a one night stand and then the next morning he told her they were married. Now, she hadn’t exactly taken his word for it, but she had done the research, looked it up and even had the proof. She had drunkenly got married to a perfect stranger when she was just twenty-one, they had been married for three-ish years.
Leaving her house, purse (with pee sticks) in hand, phone in pocket, and keys. She made her way to the spot he had picked for them to meet at. This was going to be horrible. It would almost be easier to tell someone she had no emotional connection to about the little problem, but this man, he seemed like a good guy, he was attractive, and the small fact that they were married made it that much more difficult. If he was as good of a guy that he seemed in their brief meeting, he wouldn’t be easily convinced of a divorce when he found out about the baby. Which brought her to the idea of not telling him, she could just wait until it was finalized right? No. That would be horrible of her, dishonest and bitchy. She wouldn’t be like that. The fleeting thought of telling him but not confirming if the baby was his or not, but she knew it was even worse than not telling him. Thinking about all of the possibilities as she drove made her emotions go crazy, she was going to blame it on the hormones until she either new it was all a dream, maybe a false positive, or six faulty pregnancy tests. As she parked her car in a parking spot, she was having a difficult time focusing herself. She felt like she could cry, scream, punch something or someone, and oddly enough laugh. It was one of the worst feelings ever, and she was praying she wouldn’t throw up everywhere. She took a deep breath as she locked her car and walked quickly towards the front door of the café. Her fingers flitted over her smooth stomach, would he be able to tell? Obviously she was barely pregnant, but her breasts were fuller, perkier, maybe she looked like she had a “glow”, she had no idea. But she did know she felt like she was going to explode. She pushed the door open to the café and glanced around, she saw him in a farther table, taking another deep breath and a shaky exhale, she walked over giving him a small smile as she sat down. She could do this. He had to know and they could just go from there. Maybe he wouldn’t even want to be in her life, in the baby’s life, he just wanted to get rid of them and move on with his life, not having a unwanted marriage.

[attr="class","wr1"] [attr="class","wrbg"] [attr="class","rightpanels1"] we should take a day, to break away from all the pain our brain has made the game is not played alone And I will say that we should take a moment and hold it and keep it frozen and know that life has a hopeful undertone-------------------------------------------------------------------------- ”CUT!”, he shouted, the volume of his voice having grown by the annoyance that made his blood run hot at the moment. why could actors not listen to direction? shaking his head, he reached up to pinch the bridge of his nose between his index finger and his thumb. sliding out of his chair, he stood up and walked over to the actors that looked equally as annoyed as their director, ”guys, seriously. this isn’t west side story…”, and then wesley proceeded to show them the direction that he wanted them to act. he stomped away with a huff, looking over to the crew who were staring slightly dumbfounded at their usual level headed director. he had just gotten off the phone only an hour ago with his …wife. the word still foreign to the director as he had never actually planned to be married. his parents made it look easy but with his lifestyle, job, and his all-around sanity, marriage just seemed like such a downer. he was not a man whore, he did not sleep with all sorts of women under the influence of alcohol or by using his charm to get a girl between his sheets. he occasionally found a woman in his bed the next morning but most of the time, it was just him and his dog who barely saw him due to his work hours. that was the other thing that wesley had against him. he just, he needed to get this taken care of. he had to get rid of this marriage for the both of them. neither of them were ready for this and though they had consummated their marriage twice, there was still the lack of an understanding clause that they could use. they were drunk, they were not thinking straight. a divorce was messy and if wesley could avoid it, he would. he had to stop by his lawyers before he met up with her in order to get the papers. ”that’s it for today! let’s call it an early day guys!” and chuckled in response to the cheering that he got. welsey had been working his crew over time, he had been forcing his actors to put in fifteen hour days and today, he changed his mind. he needed to get this done and found that his mind would not be clear until he did.
his lawyer was a downer too as he stood there and listened to the instructions about the papers, telling him again and again where he and roxy had to sign and how long they had and a bunch of other stuff that he was trying to remember while walking out of the office and back to the car. he had not peeled the manila envelope open, deciding to wait to read over everything when he was in the company of his wife…ex-wife? he was not sure what to call her at this point but welsey just knew that this nightmare had to end. he rubbed at his forehead as he sat in the afternoon traffic, half way to the café that he was meant to meet her at. he should have left earlier. why hadn’t he left earlier? he knew that he had little control over things like this and instead, turned the music up and let the music take him over as he bobbed his head and sang along to an old favourite song of his. he thought back to the phone call, she had sounded strange, a little distressed though any girl would be if her husband called after sleeping together only a couple of weeks ago. wesley felt he should have called her before this day, he felt like such a prick. his hands stopped hitting the steering wheel to the beat of the music as his mind took over his body. he was not prepared for this. he felt anxiety beginning, his heart was starting to race and his palms were getting sweaty. he nearly turned the car around but something kept him going on the path until he was parked only a couple of doors down from the café and he still remained in the car. he had to take deep even breaths before he clutched the folder in his hand and got out of the car. he had a slight wish that a car would come speeding down the road and take him out but he was relieved when it didn’t happen and he made it to the sidewalk safely. walking into the café, he gave a glance around for the blonde girl that was his wife and his one night stand but did not spot her. eyeing an empty table, wesley made a beeline for it, claiming his dominance by putting the folder down before taking his seat.
he was not sitting for too long though, he had been emailing on his phone, checking up on the studio and going over some budget questions with his accountant when he heard the bell of the door go off. it meant that someone had come into the café but for some reason, wesley knew it was the someone that he was waiting upon. standing up as she approached the table, he noted that she looked different—tired but still …glowing? was that the word that he could use? her appearance was the same, beautiful and blonde, and she gave him a small smile which he returned with a genuine grin, ”hey..”, his voice trailing off as she sat down and he waited for her to be fully seated before he reseated himself. ”so how…are you? you look…good.”, he reached up to scratch at the back of his neck. he found that he could not just relax like most situations. his fingers played with the fold of the envelope, ”so…”, he spoke while finally popping the fold open and beginning to pull out the documents, ”i went to my lawyers and got these. he told me a lot about them…and at this moment, my mind is a snow globe and it’s all white and …”, he turned the pile of papers around for her to read the large bolded letters at the top, ”but we won’t be married anymore…”.

there were a million times that she though about turning back. she couldn’t do this. couldn’t they just pretend that they’ve never met. but go on pretending. they’d done it before, granted they didn’t even know about each other. well, she didn’t know about him. her friends that had been with her that weekend had been thoroughly yelled at. they were still on a friendly probation, no more drinking with them… well.. no more drinking for a few months. more than a few months. she was hating the feeling in her stomach. the panic just kept rising from her stomach to her throat. her head was killing her and she would kill for some caffeine. she almost turned away when she saw the café. she could just leave, change her number. he didn’t know where she lived so that was no big deal.
it was too late to turn away. she opened the door and she welcomed with the delicious smells of coffee and foods. she wanted to turn around. she saw him almost instantly, those blue eyes got her attention. she stopped in her tracks, her feet couldn’t even move. she took a deep breath trying to get a hold of herself. she nervously ran her fingers through her hair as walked over. she bit the inside of her cheek as she walked over to the table. his grin made her relax a bit, but she swore she felt her heart thump to her throat. she sat down quickly and tried to give him another smile, but it was barely a grimace. ”hi..” she said quietly, her voice wavered slightly. she needed to get a hold of herself. ”I’m… I…” she stopped unable to get the sentence out. she let out a small laugh. ”ask me after this…” she said with another smile, this time it came out as a somewhat realistic, but very nervous. ”how are you?” she asked him quietly. a small blush came to her cheeks at his compliment, she thought she looked good, but she was afraid he wouldn’t think so after she told him her big news.
she glanced at the folder that he kept playing with and it made her very nervous for some reason. she watched as he pulled the documents out and she took a deep breath. her fingers ran through her hair again, tugging slightly on the ends as she listened to him. she couldn’t help but smile at his description of what his mind was like. she looked at the papers and sighed softly, glancing over the words. she sighed softly and laced her fingers together. ”I guess this whole nightmare could be over.” she sighed softly again, taking in a deep breath and then let it out slowly. ”before we sign anything…I umm.. I need to tell you something..” she said quietly. she was nervous. scared and worried about what he would do or say. hell she didn’t know what she was going to do. she wasn’t ready for this kind of responsibility. she worked with kids sure, but that didn’t mean she wanted to be a mother yet, she was only twenty-three. to make it worse, she was in a marriage that was completely unwanted. he was attractive and he seemed nice, he wasn’t bad to look at.
she didn’t know how to continue, her mouth suddenly felt like it couldn’t move. she looked down at the paperwork again. ”I….” she stopped again, her lips suddenly placed in a tight line. ”I want to tell you… but I don’t know how to tell you… or what words to use…” she said softly, looking frustrated. ”I… I can show you…” she rummaged in her purse and pulled out the small plastic baggie. ”I know that we both want this to be over… but umm..” she stopped and slid the plastic back over to him. ”I’m more than willing to do this.. by myself.. I just thought you needed to know…” she said, unable to meet him in the eyes. she was waiting for it, the blow up. maybe he would just get up and walk out or maybe he would sign the papers and leave it up to her. she didn’t know what he would do. but she was terrified about it and it was written all over her face. ”to be honest.. I thought about just not telling you….but that would be a dick move..” she added with a careful smile, but she still couldn’t meet his eyes. her fingers went up to her hair again, tugging softly at the blonde strands. she glanced up, trying to gage his reaction.

[attr="class","wr1"] [attr="class","wrbg"] [attr="class","rightpanels1"] we should take a day, to break away from all the pain our brain has made the game is not played alone And I will say that we should take a moment and hold it and keep it frozen and know that life has a hopeful undertone-------------------------------------------------------------------------- he had to keep himself engaged as wesley was not familiar with not being able to just sit still. he was go with the flow kind of guy and could easily let things roll off his back and just brush the dirt from his shoulders. he always walked away unscathed but in this case, he could barely keep his fingers from moving across his screen in order to keep his mind occupied. he had to do something to keep himself from literally going insane. she was not even late, the girl was not even running seconds behind the expected time, he had just been early for this meeting. it was something that he just wanted to get out of the way and then diverge from each other’s lives. it seemed like the logical solution in all of this and wesley was thinking straight with a hint of panic in his mind. he had remembered getting married to the girl but he had not thought it to be legal or binding. but now he was wrong, vegas was in fact a legal marriage location and he was just another cliché. hell, wesley was confident that he could make a movie out of this. giving a look over to the door every few seconds, wesley could feel his phone starting to slip from his grip as his palms grew moist. he let the phone lie on the table, sipping on the coffee that he had ordered—which was not really helping his nerves. every time that the bell chimed, he felt his heart drop to his stomach, skipping beats in anticipation for his wife’s arrival. the fact that this happened and that they had found one another again meant something right? wasn’t it like fate or destiny? wesley was never sure if he believed in that stuff but it would appear to be the case. but wesley was also sure that he was confident to break if off with this girl. the chime went off and he felt that same heart dropping sensation as he picked his head up and met the eyes of the blonde. she was quite beautiful, he would have to pat himself on the back for that one later. he recalled her being a little more vocal, even after the awkward morning after, something was different but he couldn’t place his finger on it. giving a raise of an eyebrow as she answered his standard question, he nodded, ”…okay?”, his voice peaking with an infliction to stress the confusion that he had. why was she so worried? why was he so worried? ”uhh…okay, bit stressed..” and this marriage was a large part on his shoulder but he knew that the papers in the folder now under his fingers would help relieve him of that weight.
the silence that was left between them caused wesley to pull the papers out from the folder and turn it around for her to read. ”more of a funny anecdote now..”, or he hoped that is what it could be chalked up to. he did not want to think about it as anything else now but she called it a nightmare—was it really that bad? he pushed the papers a little closer to her side of the table and he tilted his head as she paused the process of the annulment. all they had to do was sign the papers, he had to take them to the lawyer and it would all be over. ”okay..?’, he questioned again before giving a lick of his lips and leaning back into his chair. he followed her eyes to the paperwork, reading over a small bit of the fine print before rubbing at the back of his neck, ”you want to tell me…but you don’t know how to…”, he repeated in order to help the clarification in his mind. what could she possibly have to say to him that would pause the process? they were so close to losing their ball and chain. he tried to think of a few options like lesbianism, sex change…but that made no sense since they had slept with each other. he nodded as she mentioned showing him something and he leaned back into the table, pulling the papers back to his side of the table. he raised both eyebrows to the side of the pee stick wrapped in a plastic baggie. well those were ruined for him now. no more chips on the set from home. giving a breathless gasp, he reached for the bag, plucking it out of her grip and looking to the smiley face that was on the result panel. he could feel his mouth growing dry and his tongue was a weight. ”we…it…this..”, he could not form proper sentences as he dropped the stick to the table. he could ask how but wesley was well aware of how a baby was made. he had could have sworn that they used protection but even that sometimes failed. ”by yourself…a baby…”, he pinched the bridge of his nose before taking a deep breath and reaching for the papers. ”well this is a game changer…”, sliding the papers back into the original folder and giving a shake of his head, ”want a coffee?...can you drink coffee if you’re pregnant….?”, he questioned, dropping the folder to the ground at his feet and giving her a reserved, half smile. she felt the urge to cry, a very over powering urge to cry. she didn’t know what to do. she wasn’t ready for any of this. she was only twenty-three; she didn’t want to be married, she didn’t want to be pregnant. but, each time her mind went to taking care of the problem, she just wanted to get sick. she couldn’t imagine doing that and she knew she would regret it. she was so terrified and worried. she didn’t like this, it was unexpected. she could handle the children she taught, she didn’t have to deal with them after they left. she didn’t have to worry about nightmares or monsters under the bed. she hadn’t changed a diaper in a very long time and she didn’t even think she would be a good mother. her mother wasn’t a good mother, these things ran in the family right? she was screwed if they did because neither of her parents were good. they were materialistic, not family orientated. she spent a great deal of her childhood with nannies.
she couldn’t watch him. when he took the baggie out of her hand she ran her hands through her hair, before cupping her forehead in her hands, hearing him stumble over his words. she let out a harsh laugh, at least he was taken by surprise as well. she wanted to get up and walk out. she could still just disappear forever. she didn’t think people would judge her that badly. this was a horrible circumstance. she could move somewhere, find a job and just try and live her life. she didn’t need to drag him into this. he didn’t need this, what was he again? something in show business? this could ruin him. she couldn’t look up at him yet, but she saw the papers disappear from her sights. she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. she tried to get a hold of herself. she didn’t want to break down in front of him but she wasn’t sure if she could really get a hold of her raging emotions. so it began. she hated it already.
she looked up when he asked her if she wanted a coffee. she couldn’t help but laugh breathlessly, blinking her eyes as they started to water somewhat. she hated that word, pregnant. she tried to give him a smile back. but she was still unsure about all of this. she was certain she would feel so much better if he yelled at her, blamed it all on her, and then stormed out. but he hadn’t yet. instead he wanted to know if she wanted coffee. ”At this moment… I don’t care if I can’t have coffee… until someone tells me otherwise I guess..” she said softly. ”A coffee would be wonderful.” she pushed her hair behind her and sighed softly. Maybe she didn’t need the caffeine. She already felt too keyed up. Maybe green tea would be better, but she really just wanted something comforting. ”I’m so...sorry for this….” she said quietly.
she knew this wasn’t all her fault. she didn’t remember much of the night, but she had been oh so willing in all of it. but, she still couldn’t help but feel like somehow she could have stopped it. she could blame it all on herself if she wanted to and at this moment she sort of wanted to sulk in her own pity. she knew she needed to figure out what to do. but she really wasn’t sure how this would work. what he wanted to do. maybe he didn’t want this and was just being nice. he was british right? they were supposed to be well-mannered and proper. maybe this was just him being well-mannered and proper. she still wanted to cry, have a complete melt down, but that would be better to do in the privacy of her own home.
she took a deep breath and let it out slowly. okay. she needed to get a hold of herself. ”I..umm I don’t really know what to do..” she said quietly to him. She knew what she had to do. She had to go to the doctor. She had to go through all of the tests and checkups, to make sure she was healthy… she needed to see if the… baby was healthy, how far along she was, even though she could tell them when it happened. she should probably not drink anymore. coffee would probably be cut off from her, so she figured she should get her fill now before some high and mighty doctor told her she shouldn’t drink it. she could probably wait to tell work, but she was terrified that she was going to get fired. they couldn’t fire her for being pregnant. but, they could find a different reason. she was still new there; the kids loved her, some of the teachers could stand her, and she thought she was doing a good job.. but she knew they could always find something wrong in her teaching methods. she looked at him, she was worried, but she wanted to know what he thought. ”What do you think…. what do you want do?” she asked him quietly. ”I’ll still sign the papers and we can just… forget all of this ever happened… I won’t think anything less…” she added. She wanted to give him the out, he could just walk away and not look back.

[attr="class","wr1"] [attr="class","wrbg"] [attr="class","rightpanels1"] we should take a day, to break away from all the pain our brain has made the game is not played alone And I will say that we should take a moment and hold it and keep it frozen and know that life has a hopeful undertone-------------------------------------------------------------------------- wesley could see the distress on her face as she tried to force the situation out of her mouth. she was struggling and he was now even more confused. he could not really fathom what she needed to talk to him about except maybe the marriage. maybe she did not want to have it annulled? how could he convince her then? the papers were literally under his hand at this moment, ready to be transferred over to her and he started the process by sliding the manila folder but then she started to rummage through her bag for something. was he going to die? he had heard new stories of harmless situations turning radical. she had seemed so sane when he had met her in the bar and even their awkward morning after was still on a positive note despite their reluctance to chit chat together. where had it all gone wrong? well that answer was in a little baggie held up in front of him. he raised an eyebrow before actually taking a good look at the pee stick and feeling the breath rush out of his body as all rational thoughts escaped too. all he was left was a white, blank space in his mind as he mindlessly reached for the baggie and prodded at the stick through the plastic. he turned it over, checking for anything that could make this false but every time that he turned it back around to the front, the smiley face stared back at him. ironic, at least in this situation. if they were a couple, a real one –not drunkenly married strangers- then he could see why there would be a smiley face but to him, it felt like a heavy burden. however, he put the stick down and began to gather those lost thoughts, pulling him back to his senses as he looked over to the waitress who was coming toward their table. he needed alcohol with his coffee but opted for a strong two shot espresso. the woman seemed to take that as the only order and walked away from the table, leaving them alone once more, ”so this is …great. yea.”, his words were not fully sarcastic either. parenthood had never really been in his plans for the next five years but he could take it with a grain of salt at this point.
”right..”, he nodded, pulling the papers off the table and even eliminating them from their sights as he dropped them to the floor by his bag. it was no longer an option for them, or that was how he saw it, ”have you seen anyone who could tell you that?...”, he was referring to a doctor. sometimes those tests were wrong and a doctor would be the one to tell them the truth. he nodded and put his hand up to alert the waitress of another order, ”can we also get a …half café..”, he asked, looking over to roxy with a shrug. it seemed safer than a full caffeine filled coffee, at least the baby would come out with only two heads instead of three. he shook his head to her apology and took a long sip of his espresso as soon as it arrived. he could have done what most men would have done in this situation but really, wesley could not put the full blame on her. he could have sworn protection had been used that night but it was all a blur really, a lust filled, sweaty, satisfying blur. ”takes two to tango..”, giving her a airy smile before finishing off his espresso and pushing the small cup to the side of the table. he felt he would need about six more of those. his phone was now buzzing on the table and he quickly reached for it, ignoring the incoming call and looking up to her when the sound of a deep breath was exhaled. ”we will figure it out..”, reassuring her that she was not the only one in this situation. if it hadn’t been for his part, well, she would not have a fertilized egg growing into a human being inside of her at this moment. he see the panic written on her face, the thoughts and questions she had were rushing past her eyes as they came to mind and he could not help but smile. he was always the calm and collected one, go with the flow and though he was internally panicking and thinking about the same things she was, he kept a calm exterior. he knew that the studio would understand his slight cut back hours as he had many friends, actors, directors and writers, who started families and they were allowed to come back to full hours when everything settled. he did not know how he was going to tell his parents or his brother, that would be a fun conversation but first, they needed to figure it out. ”me? I think this is an us thing roxy. we need to figure it out, all of it out, together. the papers can be shredded when I get back to the office and I just…”, he wished he had another coffee to sip, giving him time to collect his thoughts. he wanted this, he didn’t know he wanted it until it was in front of him but he did not want her to do it on her own, he was just as much at fault as she was, ”…I’m in for this whole thing.”. he tried to think of something comforting to do or say, something to show he was not lying and a glance to her hand helped him come up with the action. gently reaching across, he took her hand in his and gave it a squeeze, ”first…think you …or we…need to go see a doctor.”. This is my heartbeat song And I'm gonna play it Been so long I forgot how To turn it up up up up all night long Oh up up all night long You,where the hell did you come from? You're a different, different kind of fun And I'm so used to feeling numb Now, I've got pins and needles on my tongue Anticipating what's to come Like a finger on a loaded gun I can feel it rising Temperature inside me Haven't felt it for a lifetime

sarcasm was always the answer when there was no answer, her lips quirked up slightly in a smirk before they fell again. she wasn’t sure why he didn’t sound fully sarcastic. ”yeah, it’s super.” she said with a failed attempt to counter his comment. she wasn’t sure if it was super. she actually didn’t think it was super at all and was not excited about this. she had enough to worry about. she watched as he pulled the papers away, she wanted to stop him. they didn’t have to stay married because of this, did he think that’s what she wanted? she was going to tell him that, but he was already asking her a question. it took her a moment to process what he had asked, she shook her head softly. ”No.. I um.. I just took them this morning, I think the cashier thought I was insane I ahh.. I bought six tests, I would have gotten more but they only had six..” she said quietly. ”Then you called.. and I wanted to tell you instead of waiting…” she added, she had thought about not telling him it was true, but she wasn’t about to make him angry for not telling him sooner.
she watched as he ordered a drink, half café, personally it was a pathetic excuse for coffee, but it would probably be better. She really didn’t need to be wired right now. His espresso looked very inviting though. he waved off her apology. why did she feel like she needed to be blamed for this? she didn’t want him to try and comfort he. she didn’t know what she wanted. she was taken from her thought process when she heard the buzzing. she looked down at his phone, expecting him to answer it. she was a little surprised when he said “we” would figure it out. she wasn’t sure if he really meant it though. she was more confused by his smile, he was so calm and collected. was he okay with this? she felt very confused and that wasn’t really helping her mental state at the moment.
thankfully the waitress came back with her drink and she thanked her quietly and grasped onto the hot cup, not even caring about the sudden heat and slight pain in the palms of her hands. she took a quick sip of the hot liquid. she finally sat the cup down on the table as he started to talk again, answering her question. so, he did want this, or at least he wasn’t going to take the out she was giving him. he was going to be the bigger person at this table clearly, because the papers came up and she glanced down. she wasn’t sure what that even meant. clearly they wouldn’t be able to get an annulment since they had consummated their relationship, at least before they could say it was just some horrible coincidence. now it was just a horrible story, a twist in events that would likely be on the Lifetime channel. She couldn’t help but take her drink again, taking another painfully hot drink. she needed something to do with her hands, to stop her brain from thinking. she didn’t want to look at him, the urge to cry was greater now that he had told her she wouldn’t be in this alone. he was reassuring her, he was in this as much as she was. she wasn’t expecting him to try and comfort her though, she saw his hand reach over and take her’s. she finally looked up at him, she tried to give him a small smile, squeezing his hand lightly back. ”I was going to try and get an appointment for tomorrow… or today if I could, I’d rather know, solidly today than have to worry about it all night..” she said quietly. it wasn’t that she didn’t trust the six positive pregnancy tests she had taken, but at least a blood test or whatever they did at this point would show her solid proof.
it was still gnawing at her though, did he really want to stay married? she thought a baby was a stupid reason to stay with someone, especially under circumstances like theirs. she took another sip, quickly finishing up her cup before she sat it down, clearly trying to collect her thoughts. what would be the best way to bring this up without sounding like an utter bitch. ”Wesley.” she paused as she debated her words. ”about the papers though, do you really want to stay married? just because of this?” she asked him nervously, her voice cautious. ”I mean.. we barely know each other, actually I think the only things we do know about each other are that we got married drunkenly in vegas.. and our names…” she said with a small smirk. they were just great, drunken marriage now a drunken pregnancy. ”I’m not saying that you shouldn’t be here… if you want to… but, I don’t want you to think you have to stay married because of this.” she paused. ”I will sign the papers.. I just wanted to tell you, to get it off my chest.. I didn’t actually think you would take that off the table completely.” there she went again, giving him an out, just in case he was regretting not taking the first one. ”I just.. I don’t want to ruin anything for you… I don’t want you to regret this or resent me for making you stay because of this… because you thought it was the right thing to do.” she added. she didn’t want to sound horrible, but she knew that’s how she was probably coming off as. this man just told her he was all in and here she was trying to get him to rethink all of it. maybe not all of it, he could be in the baby’s life, but that didn’t mean he had to stay in her life. tag: wesley ; words: 996 outfit: click notes: oh baby baby...
